SEBO Upright Buyer’s Guide: X7 vs X4 vs Felix vs 300/350
Choosing a SEBO upright is easier when you start with the cleaning experience you want. Do you prefer a vacuum that adjusts its brush height automatically? Do you want swivel steering and a separate hard-floor head? Or do you value manually controlled, service-oriented construction?
The X7, X4, Felix and 300/350 MECHANICAL answer those questions differently. The best choice is not automatically the newest or most expensive model. It is the one whose controls, handling and maintenance suit your home.
The SEBO upright comparison
| Model | Key distinction | Why try it? |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic X7 | Automatic brush-height adjustment; current Premium models add lighting and selectable brush modes | You want to compare an automatic upright with extra convenience features |
| Automatic X4 / X4 Boost | Automatic height adjustment; Boost equipment varies by version | You like the automatic format and want to compare packages carefully |
| Felix Premium | Swivel steering, manual head-height settings and brush shutoff | You want a different feel around furniture and mixed flooring |
| 300 MECHANICAL | Manual height settings and a 12-inch head | You prefer mechanical controls and a narrower cleaning path |
| 350 MECHANICAL | Manual height settings and a 14-inch head | You have open areas where a wider head may be convenient |
X7 vs X4: compare the actual version
Both families offer automatic height adjustment. The X4 also has an integrated hose and wand. Current X7 Premium information lists an LED headlight and selectable brush-agitation modes. Look at the model number, not only the color or the “X” badge: older versions, Boost versions and pet packages can have different equipment.
During a demonstration, move between the carpet samples you are considering. Notice the push effort, how the machine behaves at a rug edge, and how easily you can release the hose. Convenience only helps if it matches the jobs you do repeatedly.
Why the Felix feels different
The Felix’s swivel neck and ET-1 head give it a different steering feel from the Automatic X models. Its Premium package includes a parquet brush, and its powered brush can be switched off. Ask to try both heads and the suction controls.
Compare it around chair legs, then lift it by the carry handle. Turning effort and carrying effort are separate considerations. If you use stairs often, think through where the machine will sit and how you will reach each step.
300 vs 350: mechanical controls, two widths
SEBO’s 300 and 350 MECHANICAL use four manual height settings. Their principal size distinction is the 12-inch versus 14-inch head. They also have an externally replaceable cord and a removable brush strip, features worth discussing when ease of upkeep is a priority.
A wider path may suit an open carpeted room; a narrower head may feel easier between furniture. Measure tight passages at home and try moving each head through a similar space. Neither width is universally better.
Commercial-grade construction is not the same as commercial-use warranty coverage. Tell us whether you are buying for a residence or a business. SEBO’s standard published residential warranty excludes commercial use, so confirm the applicable terms for your intended use before purchasing.
Buy the right package, then understand the coverage
Ask us to put the exact model, included attachments and warranty coverage alongside one another. That is more useful than comparing two prices for differently equipped machines. Also ask which bags and filters fit and whether the package includes any scheduled maintenance.
SEBO advertises a warranty bonus through participating dealer offerings, but eligibility and registration matter. Have CJ Miller confirm the applicable coverage for the machine you select, including motor, parts, labor and exclusions. Do not assume a household-use benefit applies to business cleaning or that routine wear items are covered.
A five-minute showroom checklist
- Push and pull the vacuum on a surface similar to yours.
- Turn it around furniture and check its reach underneath.
- Release the hose and change an attachment yourself.
- Ask to see the bag, filter and brush-maintenance procedure.
- Confirm the model number, supplied tools and warranty terms before ordering.
SEBO upright FAQs
Does every X7 include the same pet tools?
No. Confirm the exact package. A “pet package” should list its included accessories rather than leave you to infer them from the name.
Are the 300 and 350 automatically better for home use?
No. Mechanical construction is one consideration. Width, handling, floor compatibility and warranty suitability still determine whether the machine fits your needs.
Should I choose by price first?
Set a budget, then compare equally equipped models. Include replacement supplies and the care routine in your decision, and ask what local support is available after the sale.
